“Fallen Stars” by Imani Erriu

A dark, maritime adventure awaits readers in the newest installment of the Heavenly Bodies series, FALLEN STARS, by Imani Erriu. Brie talked with Imani about the traditional release of book two in the series, a magical, cosmic romantasy that has taken Booktok and Bookstagram by storm. Just like the expansive world Imani has created, this conversation spans spaces on Celestia, writing, publishing, and more. Imani offers a unique and inspiring perspective having started as an indie author, sharing how that path shaped her today and the transition to working with an amazing traditional team. While the fantasy genre is most-often credited for the escapism it provides, Imani and Brie also chat about the deep messages for each Heavenly Bodies book, with a small hint at what readers can expect when book three, HOLY MONSTERS, is released in November 2026.

SPOILER WARNING: We give you a heads up in the episode, but we do spoil aspects of book one in the conversation (and a little below) if you haven’t read it yet.

The narrative: about Fallen Stars

Fallen Stars picks up right where the cliffhanger left readers in Heavenly Bodies. Elara will do whatever it takes to save Enzo, her soulmate, and wake him once again. So begins her quest to search for Ariete, the King of Stars and the one being that has exactly what she needs. Locating Ariete isn’t the only challenge though—Elara grapples with a new power she can’t seem to control while on the run from a world that has cast its blame on her. The world of Celestia expands, darker forces are at play, and Elara is running out of time to bring Enzo back.

The nightcap

There’s really only one pairing we can have this episode, and that’s a cup of mint tea with honey (iykyk). Perfect for a cozy evening of reading, re-entering the world of Celestia, and joining Elara, Enzo, and others on a daring quest that will take them to new realms, into dreams, and across seas.
