“My Fair Senor” by Alana Quintana Albertson
Alana Quintana Albertson is back with another multicultural narrative and a modern spin on a classic tale with MY FAIR SEÑOR. It’s the third story in her beloved “Love & Tacos” collection — this time, a fresh retelling of My Fair Lady, departing from the Shakespearean inspiration seen with the first two. This episode might start with tequila and tacos, but as with any book, there’s much more to the story.
The narrative: about My Fair Senor
Model and influencer Jaime Montez might have the riches and notoriety, but something’s missing. When he’s asked to be the influencer for a non-Hispanic, celebrity-owned tequila company — that’s when the spark ignites. He wants to start his own tequila brand… but he doesn’t know a thing about it. However, he does know someone who is quite knowledgeable on the topic.
Enter Alma Garcia, certified tequiladora and owner of her own tequila bar in Tiburon. Once upon a time, Alma and Jaime were college sweethearts, so is a second chance in store when Jaime shows up at her bar? Perhaps. Alma just might be the only person who can see through Jaime’s facade and teach him a thing or two about tequila, just as long as he can leave any ulterior motives behind.
The nightcap
Tequila lovers rejoice! This book’s pairing is the always refreshing Paloma. It’s a personal favorite on this podcast — taking us way back to season one when we paired it with People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. Sip, savor, and enjoy!
